CHALLENGE

Cemeteries are not immune to cybersecurity events and one of the largest in the nation had recently experienced a significant cybersecurity incident. The IT Director needed full visibility into any cybersecurity gaps, understanding what and where improvements need to be made, and develop the right message to present to the Board of Directors to convey the urgency and necessity of investment.

SOLUTION

IT Ally leveraged the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to execute a comprehensive cybersecurity risk assessment that uncovered several weaknesses. A detailed report was created identifying critical gaps and what actions were required. An executive-level report accompanied the findings with the right level of detail to convince Management to adopt the roadmap and mitigate the risks present in their IT environment.

RESULTS

Management was convinced that the status quo was no longer acceptable and that our improvement roadmap was the right decision for the company. The company is actively adopting new technologies, new policies, and new procedures to close the gaps and mature their cybersecurity posture. When complete, the company will be not only have improved cybersecurity defenses but will be better positioned to respond effectively to the next incident and prevent a business-impacting breach.
