Context

A PE-backed multi-location operator faced increasing operational challenges as growth and acquisitions placed greater demands on a highly customized legacy ERP environment. The platform supported critical business functions across multiple locations but depended heavily on a single internal developer, creating significant key-person risk and limiting the organization’s ability to scale.

As the business continued to expand, leadership needed a technology foundation capable of supporting future acquisitions, standardizing operations, and improving consistency across locations.

Assessment

IT Ally® conducted a comprehensive assessment of the ERP platform, business processes, operating model, and organizational capabilities. The engagement evaluated scalability constraints, governance requirements, integration challenges, and long-term technology risks impacting growth.

Following the assessment, IT Ally led the build-versus-buy strategy, vendor selection process, and governance framework design. Serving as a fractional CTO, IT Ally aligned technology execution with business objectives while introducing an API-driven architecture designed to support future expansion and operational standardization.

The Results

IT Ally modernized the ERP environment and established a scalable technology foundation to support continued growth and acquisition activity.
