CHALLENGE
A leading and rapidly growing PE backed firm, a market leading designer and distributor of home décor products, serving 11,000 gift and décor retailers, utilized a suite of custom applications, primarily legacy, to manage order to cash and procure to pay processes. However, due to anticipated growth, these legacy systems, with little investment made over the years, would likely not be sustainable into the future. IT Ally was tasked with performing a diligence to confirm the lack of viability of the custom applications as well as to assess the overall cybersecurity posture. This was needed in short order.
SOLUTION
IT Ally performed on-site IT due diligence to confirm that the applications were indeed not capable of sustaining anticipated growth and learned that system investments were historically not approved. Although we were recommending a complete replacement with modern business applications, in the short term and due to our strong partnerships, we proposed a quick highlight assessment of the code to ensure any immediate risks could be addressed while a replacement was being planned. Furthermore, a vulnerability scan performed on their internal networks further confirmed outdated technology and helped strengthen the business case to modernize.
